Potager has awoken for the season and now has two Sundays in every week!
Last Saturday as I planted Aspargus "Purple Passion" in a new raised bed below the new studio gallery I was intrigued to feel a Sunday like atmosphere. The sun shone, visitors played tether ball, ate Awens'"full of flavours" gnocchi and Tanyas' perfectly irrestible almond cake. A researcher from ARTE a German/French Channel 4 like TV company reckied the place for changes since they last filmed in 2007.
There seems to me to be an air of contentment at Potager, the calm after the getting ready to open period as we always experience but for me this year an even greater sense that we have made it out of the woods.
Many more exciting and sustainable projects to realise like irrigating the whole site with rain water from our vast holding tank, building new compost loos, opening the gallery and treating the garden to some new faces in the beds , what fun ahead.
Do get in touch if you would like to help out on Fridays, we now have an increasing number of regular volunteers who join us to learn how to maintain the garden.
Happy Springtime everyone.
